WSU and Ogden's College Town Coalition
The deep community roots that formed more than 125 years ago when Weber State University began in downtown Ogden have been reinvigorated through a College Town Coalition (formerly the College Town Initiative). The shared initiative between Ogden City government and the university, which first began in 2012, has led to an ongoing partnership that opens new doors to future opportunities and collaborations. The partnership has resulted in the adoption of a College Town Charter, the creation of various working committees and further integration of university and city life.
The coalition has truly been something to celebrate, having been recognized as one of the best college-town efforts in the world. The energy with which the initiative began shows no signs of slowing. Weber State and Ogden City now hope the coalition’s efforts will inspire other surrounding cities to strengthen their bonds with the university and show their purple pride as well.
