Degrees

Our department offers multiple degree programs. Students majoring in Family Studies are eligible to apply for national certification as a provisional Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) upon graduation. Early Childhood and Early Childhood Education candidates are trained in a program accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to teach pre-kindergarten through primary grades.  

Students may pursue master degrees in the College of Education Graduate Studies in Education program:

Our department provides students with options to pursue various minor or certification programs: Minor in Family Studies, Minor in Child Development, Child Life Coursework Pathway, and ECE Coaching Certificate.

Early Childhood

Earn your B.S. in Early Childhood for a wide range of career opportunities, including preschool teachers, child care licensing, social services, etc.
An A.A.S. in Early Childhood trains you to work in early care and education programs like preschools and Head Start.  Starting from Fall 2020, you can earn an A.A.S. degree in Early Childhood completely online!
