School LAND Trust Committee

Charter schools are required to have land trust committees that make decisions about the School Learning And Nurturing Development (LAND) Trust. Your committee prepares a plan that identifies the school's greatest academic need(s). The plans are approved by local school boards for implementation the following school year. Your committee then receives an annual dividend from the permanent State School Fund every July to implement your school's approved plan during the next school year.

WSU Charter Academy welcomes parents to participate by serving on the Board of Directors or providing public comment during the scheduled time during board meetings. Parents can directly influence the expenditures of School LAND Trust funds when serving on the board and participating in the planning and reporting of purchases made with School LAND Trust funds.
