Previous Career Champion Winners
Lisa Hopkin Goddard School of Business & Economics
Career Champion 2020
“Professor Hopkins, to me, is more than a career champion for all of her students - past or current. She exemplifies what it means to put the "care" into "career" by providing the necessary resources that enable students to succeed in life. The world needs more champions like Lisa who go out of their way to spread kindness and pass on the fundamental academic knowledge we need to change the world. Thank you, Lisa!" -Joshua Winslow, WSU Student

He believed in me and helped me to persevere when I was struggling. He did not allow me to give up, even though I did have that choice, he expected more from me and that helped keep me going. He is one of the instructors I will take with me forever as I continue to pursue my MSW degree and develop professionally and personally with compassion and dedication to helping create positive change in the world, one life at a time. -Angela Miller, WSU Student

Brian Cottle Dumke College of Health Professions
Career Champion 2020
Brian Cottle has been a great support to me. I feel like I've gotten to know him pretty well. He really encouraged me to network and put forth the effort to show people you're interested in learning more. I think about that all the time. It never hurts to reach and talk to people who are there to help. That's what I've learned from Brian. I consider him a mentor. And the really great thing is I know that even after I graduate, he'll still be someone I can reach out to for health administration career advice. -Stacy Knecht, WSU Student

Dr. Ryan Cain Moyes College of Education
Career Champion 2020
Dr. Cain was an amazing professor! It is hard not to get excited to teach science when someone so passionate about elementary science is your professor! He helped me understand the importance of connecting real experience to science standards and teaching through a project approach. I am now a first-year teacher but thanks to my classes, I joined my team with knowledge that has proved extremely valuable to my whole team. I feel like even as a first-year teacher, I have skills and abilities to share with the veteran teachers on my team and in my school. -Lisa Tidwell, WSU Student
