Quorum E-Learning

These courses offer CEUs (Continuing Education Units) and training hours to earn or renew the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. 

*All courses are Career Ladder approved. For a limited time, OCC is providing a FREE year-long membership to Quorum eLearning for professionals in the state who work with children. Your membership is FREE to you, and valid for 12 months from the date of registration.

edWeb Webinars

edWeb is a free online community for professional educators, offering networking, resource sharing, collaboration, and professional development webinars. Hundreds of both pre-recorded and live Education-related webinars available for free.

*For Career Ladder credit, you must sign up for a free edWeb.net account and choose a webinar that offers a CE Quiz. Once you take the CE Quiz, a certificate will be sent to you that may be used for Career Ladder credit. Joining a “community” that is specific to early childhood is helpful in order to filter choices down. 

Early Childhood Investigations Webinars

Early Childhood Investigations offers FREE webinars for early childhood educators. The series is produced by Engagement Strategies, LLC., and is presented by leading authors, experts, and leaders. Their goal is to allow you to participate in conference-quality training without leaving your home, classroom, or office.

*Early Childhood Investigations Webinars offer $3 CEUs through Bertelsen Education. Their courses are free, but only count on the Career Ladder if you obtain the CEU certificate.

Prevent Child Abuse Utah

Preventing Child Abuse An Online Course for Adults Working With Youth.

This FREE course teaches adults who work with youth how to protect the children in their lives from child abuse, how to recognize signs that abuse is occurring and take steps to stop it, how to receive disclosures of child abuse, and to whom disclosures or concerns should be reported.

*When registering, in “Organization” write “Utah Registry for Professional Development.”  for Career Ladder credit.

CPR and First Aid

Child Care Licensing

Classes taught by Child Care Licensing are free of charge for providers and count toward your annual training requirements. Visit their website for more information.

Ogden Nature Center

Classes directed to young children and child care are occasionally offered at the Ogden Nature Center. Visit their website for information on any upcoming classes.

Regional Classes

The training registry in our online database maintains a list of classes taught outside of our agency. Visit the website to see what courses are offered around the state.

TOP Star Training

The popular TOP Star training is offered in Davis & Weber Counties. Utah’s TOP Star program is based on the Nutrition and Physical Activity Self Assessment for Child Care, an evidence based assessment tool. Courses are available in Davis and Weber counties.
