Israel flags along walkway 

Date: Nov. 10, 2023

What happened: Around noon, approximately 50 small Israel flags were placed along a main walkway of campus running east and west from the Moench statue to the Stewart Bell Tower. The university received several emails from students and staff who were concerned about the flags.

Weber State’s response: Around 1:30 p.m. some flags had been removed by passersby before WSU’s landscape team arrived to remove the remaining flags, which had been placed within areas not designated for signage.

University and student organizations are permitted to post signs in specific lawn areas such as tree rings, shrub beds and other areas designated by Facilities Management as outlined in PPM 7-10 and consistent with free speech principles.
