Major Accident
If you experience a major accident, you may need to take leave for an extended period of time.
Weber State University has policies in place outlining which specific types of leave an employee should apply for depending on their circumstances.

Voluntary Shared Leave (VSL)
- Weber State’s Voluntary Shared Leave (VSL) program can help employees who need additional leave time.
Benevolence Fund
- The Weber State Benevolence Fund is an employee assistance program funded entirely by donations from WSU employees. Its sole purpose is to provide financial help to fellow employees when they have experienced a catastrophic event.

Substance Abuse Treatment
Blomquist Hale Employee Assistance (EAP) offers education and counseling, as well as appropriate referrals, for many issues including substance abuse.

Weber State has multiple childcare options for students, employees and community members’ children.
Melba S. Lehner Children’s School & Kindergarten
The Melba S. Lehner Children's School offers an array of childcare programs available to WSU employees, students and members of the community.
Care about Childcare
Care About Childcare - Weber State serves Weber, Davis and Morgan counties. They work with licensed childcare facilities to help sustain and increase the quality of care available to all families.
PEHP FLEX$ Dependent Daycare
You can use a daycare flex account to pay for eligible daycare expenses for dependents.

Out-of-Network Insurance
Check your Benefits Summary to see if your plan has out-of-network benefits. Some PEHP plans pay benefits for out-of-network providers.
However, PEHP doesn’t pay for any services from certain providers, regardless if you have an out-of-network benefit.
WSU Tuition Benefit
If your child or children plan on attending Weber State, they may qualify for discounted tuition at WSU.

Leaving the University
WSU Employee Exit Process
Once a separation e-PAR has been submitted and approved indicating you will be leaving Weber State University, there is an employee exit process to follow for leaving.
Retirement Account
You may choose to roll over your WSU retirement account balances into a different account. Contact your TIAA or Utah Retirement Systems representative for more information.
COBRA
Medical, life, dental and disability insurance coverage ends at the end of your last work day at Weber State.
PEHP and EMI will send COBRA information directly to separating employees.
Employees may be eligible for temporary continuation of health insurance benefits after employment ends, in accordance with COBRA.

Aging Parents
FMLA
Under the Family and Medical Leave Act, you may qualify for unpaid time off to care for an immediate family member (spouse, child or parent) with a serious health condition.
