    The choice between the
two largest networks in the state,
    plus out-of-state networks

  •
    Cost comparison tools
    & cashback opportunities

For questions about the medical insurance plan, contact PEHP at 800-765-7347 or visit the PEHP Website.

Traditional Health Plan

The traditional health plan includes:

  • A lower deductible with predictable costs through fixed copays (dollar amounts for services like office visits).
  • Each family member has their own deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.
  • Deductible does not apply to out-of-pocket maximum.
  • You pay a portion of the plan from your paycheck and have the option to contribute to a Flexible Spending Account (FLEX).

STAR High Deductible Health Plan

The STAR HSA plan is an HSA-eligible medical plan. You will be able to pay for medical bills with a savings account containing money that you and your employer contribute.

  • Weber State University contributes money to an HSA account for health-related expenses to offset a higher deductible. You can also put money in yourself, tax free.
  • HSA funds carry over from year-to-year and grow tax free. You never forfeit what you do not spend. Save for healthcare and retirement expenses.
  • This plan covers most preventative care services paid at 100% (even before the deductible) compared to other plans.
  • All spending goes towards the out-of-pocket maximum, protecting you from large bills.
