- Each family member has their own deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.
- Deductible does not apply to out-of-pocket maximum.
- You pay a portion of the plan from your paycheck and have the option to contribute to a Flexible Spending Account (FLEX).

STAR High Deductible Health Plan
The STAR HSA plan is an HSA-eligible medical plan. You will be able to pay for medical bills with a savings account containing money that you and your employer contribute.
- Weber State University contributes money to an HSA account for health-related expenses to offset a higher deductible. You can also put money in yourself, tax free.
- HSA funds carry over from year-to-year and grow tax free. You never forfeit what you do not spend. Save for healthcare and retirement expenses.
- This plan covers most preventative care services paid at 100% (even before the deductible) compared to other plans.
- All spending goes towards the out-of-pocket maximum, protecting you from large bills.
