The Science Around Us: What a Great Salt Lake!

Join us as we explore the world around us!  Learn about the unique ecosystem in and around the Great Salt Lake through dance, music, theatre, and visual art.  Using cross-cutting science concepts, participants will engage in hands-on strategies for teaching arts-integrated activities.

Empowering Arts Educators: Building Arts Endorsement Competencies for Classroom Success

When: Summer 2024
Where: Utah Valley University - Orem (June 10-14) and 10 weeks asynchronous online
Cost: $65 per credit; 2-credit course (Scholarships Available)

Led by artist and educator Korryn Coates, this 2-credit course, ADVANCED STUDIO WORK & 3D DESIGN, will use ceramics and sculpture techniques to explore the Elements of Art and Principles of Design while developing advanced visual arts skills and competencies in ceramics and sculpture for K-12 teachers. Ceramics 1 or Sculpture 1 Pre-Requisite Required. Meets the following visual art endorsement competencies:

  • Elem: Advanced Studio Work
  • K-12 or Sec: Advanced Studio Work - Partial
  • Elem, Sec, & K-12: 2D/3D Design
  • Elem, Sec, & K-12: Creative Process
