Area of Teaching and Research Expertise: Printmaking

About

Lauren Bennett’s research interests include sustainable printmaking and ultraviolet light-based printing; creating hybrid prints that knit together photography, watercolor, and cyanotype methods.

Lauren’s artwork engages notions of environment, memory, and ephemerality. Her approach to printmaking invites it’s inherent experimental and translative nature.

A primary contributor and research assistant for the textbook: Printmaking Revolution: New Advancements in Technology, Safety, and Sustainability by Dwight Pogue (New York: Watson Guptill, 2012), she has worked as Project Manager & Master Printer’s Assistant for workshops at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Smith College. Adjunct teaching appointments include Bunker Hill Community College in Boston and the University of Utah. She was a Visiting Artist & Lecturer as part of the 2017 Scholar Lecture Series at the University of West Georgia.
