College Access & First-Year Transition
College Access & First Year Transition is made up of various programs to assist future and current students at Weber State University.
We specialize in giving underrepresented students additional assistance with ACCESS, which includes the admissions process, the FAFSA application, ensuring students are enrolled in the right academic programs
and work with their designated Academic Advisors based on their declared major. We also assist with TRANSITION by providing the following programming:

SPECIAL POPULATIONS
Special Populations includes youth from: foster care, juvenile justice, refugee populations and students who are experiencing homelessness. Our goal is to connect with these students from their agencies or non-profit, and ensure they successfully transition and are retained at WSU. We also work to connect students to additional funding streams for scholarships and financial support.
UNDOCUMENTED
Undocumented students receive assistance with access and transitioning to WSU (primarily for the Ogden School District), assist students with receiving in state tuition, scholarships, and being retained at WSU. In addition, we provide trainings for schools or community partners wanting to know how to best serve undocumented and DACA students.
YOUTH CONFERENCES & SUMMER BRIDGE
Youth Conferences we facilitate for K-12 students on a yearly basis include the Multicultural Youth Conference (a day event in December), Latinos in Action (a day event in March), and the Summer Bridge program (a 3 day, 2 night event in August).
