Participating in and accomplishing a HIEE will help you gain the skills and develop the competencies that you need for entering your career field. Employers are looking for more than good grades now and these experiences will help push you ahead!

Yes! It is possible to receive school credit for a HIEE. However, not all opportunities offer that. You can look through the “Opportunities'' section above for more information, and you can always work with Career Services or your advisor to find the right experience for you!

First, you should verify that the experience you’re interested in is an option for credit through Weber State. If you have questions or concerns about that, you should contact the Wildcat Advantage Coordinator. Then, if you know that HIEE is available for credit, you can register for that class like any of your other courses!

The Wildcat Advantage program is designed for all undergraduate students at Weber State University. It is designed to help undergraduate students build skills and gain experience that will help propel them forward on their journey to employment, graduate programs, work in their communities, and more.

The program is designed for students to complete the required number of high impact education experiences (HIEEs) at their own pace.  Therefore, students don't have to complete the HIEE in the semester they apply to the Wildcat Advantage program. The exception to this rule is if the student is receiving the $500 compensation for participating in the program. If the student is receiving the $500 compensation, they must complete at least 1 HIEE in the semester they apply to the program in order to receive the $500 compensation.

You must complete two different types of HIEEs in order to satisfy Level 1.  For example, you could do a community engaged learning experience and a leadership experience.  Those two experiences are two different types of HIEEs and count for Level 1.

Beyond Level 1, the same type of HIEE experience can count multiple times.  For example, you participate in two study abroad experiences.  Each study abroad experience counts as a separate HIEE.  Or, you participate in an internship during the fall semester and again in the spring semester.  The experience you have in each semester counts as a separate HIEE.

Yes! Your prior HIEEs will count in the program as long as you submit your HIEE artifact and reflection to your ePortfolio, share the link to your e-Portfolio through GivePulse, and submit your HIEE "Impact" in GivePulse.
