The 2023-24 UTA Ed Pass is FREE

UTA Ed Passes are a FREE benefit from Weber State University. Your UTA Ed Pass will give you access to transportation on all UTA buses, FrontRunner and TRAX. Ride to school, work, shopping or even Salt Lake City. By utilizing this benefit, you won’t have to worry about gas prices or traffic. You will also be contributing to a healthier environment while working on homework, or taking a nap during your commute.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the cost of the Ed Pass?
    There is no annual fee for the UTA Ed Pass. For the academic year 2023-2024 the pass is free. To replace a lost card is $25. To replace damaged cards is free provided you turn in the damaged card.

  • What is included in the services provided by the Ed Pass?
    With the UTA Ed Pass you have access to all the UTA system provides, including buses, the Front Runner and Trax. All routes, excluding the ski resort routes, are available to you whether it is for school purposes or not.

  • Do I have to renew my pass?
    Yes, each year you will need to renew the original pass before the beginning of each fall term in order for that card to remain active.

  • How do I delete a transaction? I picked the wrong option, or don’t want to pay for a pass anymore.
    There are no refunds, if you’ve made a payment, you should pick up your card and use it when needed (or if you’re reactivating a card) it will be reactivated and there is no option to reverse the transaction

    However, if you realize that you made the wrong selection in the second drop down, all you have to do is click delete to cancel the transaction. If you chose the ‘Pay later’ option and already submitted the request, you can still go in and delete it, as long as you do it before payment has been made.

 Get Your First Ed Pass

  1. Login to your portal. Locate the UTA Ed Pass app through the search field.

  2. In the first drop-down option, select UTA Ed Pass

  3. The next drop-down box will populate with the purchase options you are eligible for. Select Ed Pass Annual fee 2023-2024.

  4. Read the terms and conditions agreement and check the Agree box.

  5. Click the Save button.

  6. On the right side under "Current UTA Ed Pass" a Charge History box will appear. The status will show PAID.

  7. To get your new card, bring your Wildcat ID and W number to the Shepherd Union Information Center or Davis Student Services (WSU Davis - D2 262)

 Renew Your Ed Pass

  1. Log on to your portal. Locate the UTA Ed Pass app through the search field.

  2. In the first drop-down option, select UTA Ed Pass

  3. The next drop-down box will populate with the purchase options you are eligible for:
    • If you have an active or inactive pass from 2022-2023, you should be eligible to renew your pass. Select Ed Pass Annual Fee 2023-2024. A renewal is free.
       
  4. Read the terms and conditions agreement and check the Agree box.

  5. Click the Save button.

  6. On the right side under "Current UTA Ed Pass" a Charge History box will appear. The status will show PAID.

  7. Use your same Ed Pass card.

 Replace Your Lost/Stolen Ed Pass

  1. Log on to your portal. Locate the UTA Ed Pass app through the search field.

  2. In the first drop-down option, select UTA Ed Pass

  3. The next drop-down box will populate with the purchase options you are eligible for:
    • Select Ed Pass Replace xxx Lost. A replacement card is $25.
       
  4. Read the terms and conditions agreement and check the Agree box.

  5. Click the Save button.

  6. Follow the direction to pay with a credit card online or choose to pay later. If you pay later you can pay with card, check or cash at the Union Info desk when you pick up your new card or if you are at Davis, go to the cashiers' office to pay and bring the receipt to the Student Services Info desk to pick up your new card.

 Replace Your Damaged Ed Pass

  1. Log on to your portal. Locate the UTA Ed Pass app through the search field.

  2. In the first drop-down option, select UTA Ed Pass

  3. The next drop-down box will populate with the purchase options you are eligible for:
    • Select Ed Pass Replace xxx Damaged. A replacement card is free if the damaged card is returned.
       
  4. Read the terms and conditions agreement and check the Agree box.

  5. Click the Save button.

  6. On the right side under "Current UTA Ed Pass" a Charge History box will appear. The status will show PAID.

  7. To get your replacement card, bring your damaged card to the Shepherd Union Information Center or Davis Center Student Services
