Weber State’s 2023–24 theater season offers something for everyone

OGDEN, Utah — Weber State University’s theater season kicks off next week with a musical adaptation of the classic novel Jane Eyre. 

The upcoming season also includes Silent Sky, The Amphibians and The Prom. All performances will be held at the Val A. Browning Center on the Ogden campus. A silhouette of a woman filled with lightning striking a tree

“This year’s selection of plays and musicals have an incredible range that certainly offers something for everyone,” said Andrew Barratt Lewis, WSU Theatre Program director. 

Jane Eyre will run from Oct. 6–7 and 11–14 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.


Silent Sky explores the role of women in the era of scientific discovery through the life of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt. The play runs Nov. 10–11 and 15–18 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.  

Opening the spring season is the dystopian play The Amphibians, which examines climate change. It will play Feb. 23–24 and Feb. 28 to March 2 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance March 2 at 2 p.m.

The theater season will close in the spring with the musical comedy The Prom, fresh off the show’s successful run on Broadway. The Prom will run April 4–6 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance April 6 at 2 p.m.

Weber State’s Theatre Program offers a way to enjoy all four shows with the Season Flex Pass, which provides eight tickets that can be used in any combination of the four shows.
