Moreno-Garcia to bring gothic, horror and romance to Weber State

OGDEN, Utah — Weber State University’s Telitha E. Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities invites the public to an evening with award-winning author Silvia Moreno-Garcia on Oct. 2. A graphic announcing Silvia Moreno-Garcia's presentation at Weber State.

Part of the Browning Presents! series, Moreno-Garcia’s talk, titled “Gothic, Horror, and Romance: Writing Genre Fiction in the 21st Century,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Allred Theater at the Val A. Browning Center.

Mexican by birth and Canadian by inclination, Moreno-Garcia is a celebrated and prolific author renowned for her mastery across multiple genres. She will explore her process for researching and writing novels such as Mexican Gothic and The Seventh Veil of Salome, offering insights on crafting compelling narratives that spark her audiences' imagination.

“We are thrilled to welcome Silvia Moreno-Garcia to our college,” said Deborah Uman, dean of the Lindquist College. “Her books offer something for everyone, and we are excited for our students and community to engage with such a master storyteller.”
