Overnight Pineview Stay Welcomes New WSU Students

Ogden, Utah – Classes, schedules, studying and stress are part of the university experience, but Weber State University is offering new students a chance to celebrate before hitting the books with an overnight camp and a back-to-school party.

New and transfer students are invited to attend the “Experience Weber” overnight adventure at Pineview Reservoir Aug. 25. The camp, hosted by WSU's Campus Recreation Outdoor Program, is intended to help students meet new friends and see what the mountains and waterways of Utah have to offer. The trip includes stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, giant water inflatables and meals along with the overnight stay.

"Experience Weber connects incoming students to the incredible resources and services available in Ogden,” said Daniel Turner, WSU Outdoor Programs coordinator. “Experience Weber allows students to meet new friends and build meaningful relationships that create support networks to sustain them through the next few years. There is no better place to do this than in Weber’s incredible backyard. Northern Utah has it all, from rock climbing and biking to whitewater rafting and skiing.  WSU's Outdoor Program will take you there."

The cost is $35 and includes equipment, transportation, camping gear and meals.
