Arts in the Parks releases 2024 dates for Ogden

OGDEN, Utah — Weber State University’s Arts in the Parks program is back for another year, a free summer outreach program offering children an opportunity to participate in hands-on visual and performing arts activities. 

Daily themes for this season are Mondays, visual arts; Tuesdays, literary arts; Wednesdays, dance; Thursdays, theater; and Fridays, music.A puppeter with a yellow duck puppet performs for three children and their mother.

Every summer, the Arts in the Parks program travels to five different Ogden parks each week. This year’s events are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the following locations: 

  • Liberty Park, June 3–7
  • Monroe Park, June 10–14 (no activities on June 12)
  • Lorin Farr Park, June 17–21 (no activities on June 19)
  • West Ogden Park, June 24–28

Science in the Parks is normally held alongside Arts in the Parks but has been canceled this year. However, Science in the Parks will visit different venues for individual events this summer and provide updates on its website, social media and the Ogden City events page.

Arts in the Parks is a collaborative effort between WSU’s Telitha E. Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities, Jerri & Vicki Moyes College of Education, Center for Community Engaged Learning and Ogden City School District Child Nutrition Summer Lunch Program.
