WSU Selects Associate Provost of Enrollment Management and Student Success

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University has named Jessica Oyler as associate provost of Enrollment Management and Student Success beginning March 1.

Oyler has worked at Weber State since 2008, serving as the executive director of Student Affairs Strategic Initiatives and most recently as the assistant vice president for Human Resources.

In her new role, Oyler will oversee Admissions, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Registrar, and the Student Success Center.

“This is a critical position for our institution and is directly connected to the strategic growth goals outlined in the university’s strategic plan,” said Provost Ravi Krovi. “The pandemic has altered student choices and market preferences leading to challenges but also new opportunities. Dr. Oyler brings the energy and passion, the expertise and the organizational and leadership skills needed to successfully lead the enrollment management efforts of the university.”

Oyler is an Arkansas native who was inspired to pursue higher education when her mother attended college much later in life as a way of pulling their family out of poverty.

With her mother’s example and support, Oyler earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas in agricultural education, a master’s in postsecondary educational leadership from San Diego State University, and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Utah.

“My personal experience mirrors that of many of our Weber State students, and my goal is to be in a position where I can help these students also realize their dreams,” Oyler said. “I will work to eliminate barriers to higher education for students.”

Oyler brings experience in data-driven analysis and strategic decision-making and has a strong commitment to equity and inclusion. She has co-authored articles about student success, including, “Demonstrating student success: A practical guide to outcomes-based assessment of learning and development in student affairs.”

In addition to her administrative work, Oyler teaches courses in the Master of Education and First Year Experience programs.

In the community, she serves on the Roosevelt Elementary School Community Council and as an Honorary Commander at Hill Air Force Base.
