REACH Weber

REACH Weber provides fun, innovative recreation programming that combines positive youth development and diabetes education. It is held through Weber State University’s Jerry & Vickie Moyes College of Education in partnership with the Lions Club of Northern Utah, Intermountain Health and Primary Children’s Hospital. Studies have supported the notion that attending medical specialty recreation programs can provide positive outcomes for children with chronic illnesses.

All programming is free and facilitated by Weber State students, faculty and staff, as well as local healthcare providers. We host numerous events and camps throughout the year, so sign up today!

REACH Nationwide

The Recreate, Educate, Advocate, and Climb Higher (REACH) program, is a recreation service for youth with type 1 diabetes and their families through the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

REACH programs have helped attendees increase resiliency at family diabetes camp, foster friendships during monthly programs, increase diabetes knowledge during the Tween/Tween Camp and build effective community partnerships overall.

The Virginia-based REACH program, operated for more than 10 years, and used evidence-based practice to create a community of practice to better serve youth with diabetes at the national level.
