What is a Resident Assistant?

Resident Assistants are student paraprofessionals responsible for promoting a residential experience that cultivates a sense of belonging, academic success, personal growth, and transitional life skills that are inclusive of all residents for the Housing areas: Wildcat Village and University Village. Our Housing Community houses 1001 students with 2 types of living: Community and Apartment Style.

Requirements for being a Resident Assistant:

  • All candidates and current staff must be full-time students at Weber State University, defined as 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester or 3-6 graduate credit hours per semester.
  • Successful completion of at least 1 academic year as a full-time student.
  • All candidates and current staff must maintain a minimum cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5
  • All candidates and current staff must be in good conduct standing with the University and Housing Department.
  • Must have 1 academic year (or equivalent) of community living experience.

  • Single Room Waiver in Assigned Building
  • Weber Experience Block Meal Plan
  • Total Stipend of $6,000
  • Extensive professional development experience including 3 full-time weeks of Fall Training before the beginning of the academic year. Some aspects of training and professional development include but are not limited to administrative processes, Safe@Weber training, emergency preparedness, and conflict resolution.
