HONORS PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year these scholarships are offered to students enrolled in the Honors Program.
The awarded funds cover Utah residential tuition and fees for one academic year. You do not have to complete FAFSA to receive an award.

 

Timeline:

Start of Spring semester || Application Opens

Friday before Spring break (March 1, 2024) || Application Closes

April 5, 2024 || Scholarship recipients notified

Scholarship goes into effect || August 2024 to April 2025

Scholarship Details:

Complete your application and submit to honors@weber.edu or print and deliver to the front desk of the Honors Center, Library #324.

For the Introduction to Honors Scholarship:

Have a Weber State University faculty or staff member* send a letter in support via honors@weber.edu by March 1, 2024. 

*If you are a freshman or transfer student, we will accept the letter of support from a professional in the field of education, such as a former high school teacher, advisor, etc.

For the Exploration in Honors & Departmental Honors Schoalrships:

Have a Weber State University faculty member send a letter in support of via honors@weber.edu by March 1, 2024. 

It is highly recommended that you contact the professor of your choosing a minimum of 3 weeks in advance to the deadline. 

More Information:

  • Honors Program scholarships are for undergraduate tuition only, paid according to the general undergraduate programs tuition and fee table.
     
  • Students must meet the eligibility requirements under their current degree (e.g. If a student has graduated previously and is returning for another degree, only their current degree will be considered).
     
  • Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, gender, religion, sexuality, disability, or ethnicity.
     
  • We are willing to give partial awards if you need to cover tuition & fees for only 1 more semester. Semesters may include summers. Contact honors@weber.edu if this is the case.

  • Introduction to Honors Scholarship Application 


    For students newly enrolled in the Honors Program who have either not yet taken an HNRS course or are enrolled in their first Honors course at time of application.

    To be eligible for the 2024-25 "Introduction to Honors" Scholarship, an applicant must:

    • Be enrolled full-time in the 2024-25 academic year (at least 12 credit hours per semester);
    • Be enrolled in the Honors Program before applying;
    • Take an Honors course in the 2024-25 academic year;
    • Have taken 1 Honors credit OR have met with an Honors Advisor about program requirements.

    For students who are enrolled in Foundation or University Honors and have completed 3+ credits of HNRS courses.

    To be eligible for the 2024-25 "Exploration in Honors" Scholarship, an applicant must:

    • Be enrolled full-time in the 2024-25 academic year (at least 12 credit hours per semester);
    • Be enrolled in the Honors Program at least one semester before applying;
    • Complete at least 3 credits of Honors generated courses before applying.

  • Departmental Honors Scholarship Application


    For students enrolled in Departmental Honors only and are actively pursuing completion of their requirements.
     

    To be eligible for the 2024-25 "Departmental Honors" Scholarship, an applicant must:

    • Be enrolled full-time in the 2024-25 academic year (at least 12 credit hours per semester);
    • Be enrolled in Departmental Honors at least one semester before applying and have your department advisor confirm that your status is active and requirements are being pursued.
