Graduation

Join in the celebration! Weber State celebrates our amazing graduates in the fall and spring with general commencement, celebrating their accomplishments as a group, as well as individual convocation ceremonies for each college. To graduate and receive your diploma you must be eligible and apply on time. Explore this website for more detailed information.

Steps to Graduation

• Step 1: Apply for Graduation

  You must apply for graduation in your eWeber portal in order to participate and receive your diploma. To do this you must: 

  1. Schedule an appointment and meet with your advisor(s) as required. You may need to see a college advisor, a major advisor and a minor advisor.
  2. Review your CatTracks degree evaluation with your advisor(s). Make sure your program of study is correctly listed in CatTracks and then check for any missing requirements. Program of study corrections must be completed with your advisor prior to submitting your graduation application.
  3. Submit your application for the semester that all of your program requirements will be complete.

  Final grades are not submitted until the week after the graduation ceremonies so while you might not be certain, you should still apply for graduation.

  You must submit your graduation application to receive your diploma even if you do not plan to attend commencement or convocation.

• Step 2: Get Your Cap & Gown at Grad Finale

  There’s no need to fill out an order form or send your measurements in advance. By attending Grad Finale you’ll be able to pick up your free cap and gown so you’re ready for graduation. You’ll also have the chance to get your photo taken, get your hands on some free swag and celebrate your accomplishments with your fellow graduates!

• Step 3: Attend Commencement and Convocation

  Weber State University holds one large commencement ceremony at our Ogden campus where graduates walk in and sit together. Then, separate college convocations are held where you will walk across the stage and receive your diploma holder. Diplomas are mailed at a later date.

• Step 4: Get Your Diploma

  Diplomas are not given out during the graduation ceremonies. Instead, they are printed and mailed to the address you provided on your graduation application. You will receive a notification when your diploma is mailed out. If you move or change your address after submitting your application, send your new address to graduation@weber.edu using your student email.
