Creative Writing Submission Guidelines: Poetry, Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction
What to Include
-
Poets may submit up to three poems
-
Fiction and creative non-fiction writers may submit work between 500-2,000 words
-
Include a cover page with your contact information, including name, address, phone number, and email address
-
12 pt. font
-
Times New Roman or Garamond font
-
Double-spaced (for fiction and creative nonfiction)
-
PDF, Microsoft Word, or Open Office format accepted
-
Make sure your name does not appear within your submission
-
Number your pages
-
Include a header with the title of your piece on each page
How to Submit

Email an electronic copy of your work to: ryanridge@weber.edu

Include "English Department Creative Writing Contest" in your email subject line
-
Include your name and preferred phone number in the body of the email. This information will be used to contact you if you are a finalist in the contest

All submissions must be original and un-published
Who Can Submit
-
Entries are open to all English majors
-
The contest will be judged by a panel of WSU English professors

Additional Perks
-
The winning submissions in each category will be published in the spring issue of Metaphor.

Runner-up submissions will also be considered for publication in Metaphor.
PTW Submission Guidelines
What to Include
-
PTW Students can submit entries in two categories:
-
Digital Media PTW products, such as videos or social media posts/content related to PTW
-
Traditional PTW products, such as reports, instructions, proposals, memos, etc.
