Required Training
Many campus jobs require specific trainings to ensure safety standards are met. For your list of required trainings, contact your department supervisor or fill out the job analysis form. For questions, contact ehs@weber.edu.

Driver Training and Certification
Employees, volunteers and students who drive for university business (in either campus or personal vehicles) must complete the defensive driving training certification. All certifications on the online program are good for two years.

EHS hosts in-person trainings for the following subjects:
Confined Space Competent Person
OSHA requires that any employee working in - or monitoring - a permit required confined space be trained to know of actual hazards, potential hazards, detect atmospheric hazards, monitor employees entering confined spaces, and how to protect themselves and others.First Aid/CPR/AED
This two-part course covers how to respond to breathing emergencies, identifying and caring for bleeding, sudden illness and injuries, and techniques for preventing disease transmission. This course also covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use. At the completion of this course you will have a two-year national certification.MEWP Operator
Classroom presentation on the pre-use inspections, safe operation, and proper maintenance of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).PIT Operator
Classroom presentation on the pre-use inspections, safe operation, and proper maintenance of Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs).Bloodborne Pathogen
Bloodborne Pathogen training is required where occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials may occur, and a refresher course is required annually. -
