Research suggests that employers are looking for candidates who are “Career Ready”. NACE, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, has identified 8 Career Readiness Competencies 8 Career Readiness Competencies sought after in all industries throughout the United States:

Career & Self Development
Proactively develop oneself and one’s career through continual personal and professional learning, awareness of one’s strengths and weaknesses, navigation of career opportunities, and networking to build relationships within and without one’s organization.
The goal of the APEX Certificate is to help students identify, apply, and articulate these essential skills throughout their college experience to better prepare them for their future. This Certificate can help articulate the value of Arts & Humanities degrees and will be a tool used by the Lindquist College to assist with student recruitment, retention and post-graduation career attainment.
