 SmartStart Summer Bridge

SmartStart is a summer bridge program designed for first year students. SmartStart’s goal is to transition first year high school students to college.  We prepare students for college and ensure that they get the most from Weber State University by providing a comfortable social atmosphere in which students can actively enjoy and experience college.

SmartStart Summer Bridge offers opportunities for students to: take up to 6 credit hours free tuition, learn basic study skills, meet and study with students of similar background, participate in educational group seminars, become familiarized with the campus and learn how to take advantage of the resources offered at WSU.

Overall our services improve students odds so they are more likely to succeed in their education. We not only provide a support group and academic assistance,  we network students with the university so they can get the most our of their education.

SmartStart is tailored toward:

Low-income Students- meaning students whose family income is below the federally determined guidelines.

And/or

First Generation Students- determined by the level of education of students parents (neither parent has earned a bachelors degree.

Although the majority of our students are first generation/ low income, all applicants are considered, so please apply.
