Assistant Professor

The Department of Physics at Weber State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2015. We seek a person with expertise in experimental physics or in the use of computational methods that can contribute to the Applied Physics and Physics of Materials components of our program. The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) teach majors' courses across the undergraduate curriculum; 2) teach lower-division service and general education courses; 3) establish an active and sustained research program that includes mentoring undergraduate students. Long-term expectations for faculty members in the department include 1) seek external funding in support of teaching or research; 2) contribute to the development of new departmental and interdisciplinary courses and curricula; and 3) develop collaborations with colleagues in Physics and in other departments at Weber State University.
