The Promontory, UT site of ATK (which is the Aerospace Systems Group) has two summer internships available for Computer Science and IS&T majors.

The internships are full time, typically 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and run from mid May to mid August. Hourly pay is very competitive. The position descriptions are attached.
U.S. Citizenship is required as ATK is a DOD contractor.

Develop, implement, and maintain software applications to meet business requirements.
Duties include but not limited to:
• Participating in application development projects; identify business and system requirements
• Design, develop, test, and implement application software
• Use standard design and development processes and methodologies
• Participate in code reviews
• Work with technical staff to resolve issues with software design, development and implementation
• Work as a team member
Requirements:
• Must be a U.S. person (must be able to work with ITAR restricted data)
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Computer Science, BIS (Business Information Systems) or related field (position may be filled at a lower level)
• Skills
o Mix of object oriented programming languages (JAVA, .NET, AJAX, C++)
o Web technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML)
o Ability to work under the direction of senior team members
o Demonstrated customer service
Preferred:
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Experience in lean principles and practices

The candidate will have experience with Microsoft PC operating systems preferably VISTA but XP as well. He/she will be able to communicate work and project status to senior management and team members. The candidate should be a good listener and able to restate issues and concerns to users and customers. The candidate should be able to work together with a team to provide customer service.
Computer help desk experience a plus. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and should be patient and empathetic with others. Any troubleshooting experience would be a plus.
Education
Candidate should be working toward BS/BA or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related technology.
May fill position at a lower level.
