Administrative Support:I support and facilitate the needs of the students and faculty within the Department of Geosciences.
In addition to administrative duties like reconciling the department budget, purchasing, organizing & maintaining the office, files and student records, and aiding in communication, I also manage the department's website and social media, help others in the use of software and university computer programs, and work with the department chair in publishing a weekly newsletter.
How I Can Help You:If I don't know the answer to your question, I will find it or connect you with the person who can. Whatever your question, please always feel welcome to stop by and see if I can help you.
Declaring your Major - When you are ready to declare your major within Geosciences, I can enter that in CatTracks for you. I will also connect you with the faculty advisor for your chosen program, who also has a packet of important information to give you.
Registering for Classes - If you are having a problem registering for a class, I can help you understand the issue and point you in the right direction for getting that addressed.
If an error states a test and/or prerequisite issue, you can go immediately to the professor of that class to address that, and see if an override of that block will be approved.
eNewsletters - Let me know if you are not receiving the department's weekly eNewsletter. If you are not on the list, I'll add you. If you are on the list, I can trouble shoot why it may not be showing up in your in-box.
Time & Attendance System - All student employees use the Time and Attendance System (TAS) to clock in and out for work. I can correct your time if you forget to clock in and/or out, and help you with any other questions or concerns you might have.
Scholarship Applications - In February of each year, applications for department scholarships for the next academic year become available. There will be extra copies in the office, and I can print your unofficial transcript to accompany it.
