Program Mission
Own Your Future that currently serves 847 students to provide college readiness services to a cohort of students and follow them from 7th through 12th grade. Goals include: increasing the post-secondary preparation of project students; the academic performance, attendance of project students; the rate of high school graduation and post-secondary participation of project students; students and families' knowledge of post-secondary education options, preparation, and financing; the educational expectations and planning activities of project students; and the preparation of project teachers and staff to teach and serve students.Upcoming Events
GEAR UP Wyoming & Colorado Tour
Branching out of Utah, GEAR UP participants will take a 4 day tour on June 10-14 of campuses throughout Colorado and Wyoming to further their interest in attending college away from home. Tentative campuses that will be visited are: University of Wyoming, Colorado State, University of Colorado Boulder, and College of Eastern Utah. Included in the tour, participants will also visit the Air Force Museum and Garden of the Gods in Colorado.
Summer Institute
Hosted at Weber State University, participants will be involved in a summer long institute event running from July 30 - August 2. Students will be involved in hands on workshops, visit campus departments and listen to key note speakers, all of which will help prepare them to the idea of furthering their education by pursuing a postsecondary degree.
