Office of Congressman Blake Moore - Press Secretary - Paid

Congressman Blake Moore (UT-01) is hiring a Press Secretary to help handle the Congressman’s communications work as GOP Conference Vice Chair. The ideal candidate would expand our office’s capacity and have at least two years of experience in communications, an exceptional ability to produce content and manage stakeholder relationships, excellent writing and time management skills, an aptitude for graphic and website design and event planning, an acute attention to detail, and a commitment to advancing the conservative agenda. Hogle Zoo - Seasonal Guest Engagement - Paid

Hogle Zoo is hiring Seasonal Guest Engagement staff to help us run our various and exciting programs on zoo grounds. This is an excellent work opportunity for university students in particular, especially if you have an interest in animals, conservation, education, or in the performing arts. This job helps to build up presentation skills, people management skills, and gives a deep dive into hands-on conservation work. Employees also learn how to handle and present with small ambassador animals. We do a lot of training before the summer starts, as a passion of ours is to set up our employees for future success in whatever field interests them. Many of our seasonals each year gain a full time job at our zoo or another AZA accredited zoo, as this is one of the rare paid foot-in-the-door opportunities at an AZA zoo.

Waterford.org is an education nonprofit with a mission to achieve universal literacy for children through equity, access, and parent empowerment. Utah Lieutenant Governor's Office - Communication Intern - Paid

A communications internship is available with the Utah Lieutenant Governor's Office. You would work with Carlos Artiles Fortun, a former producer at KSL and communications director at the Lieutenant Governor's Office. You would be paid $15-17 per hour. The duties are listed below. DUTIES FOR COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

  • Work under the direction of the communications specialist to coordinate social media posts. The position may require some after hours and weekend work.
  • Work closely with the communications specialist and chief of staff to the lieutenant governor to develop and coordinate communications on specific issues.
  • Assist in writing and creating social media posts using X, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Assist in preparing, writing and editing weekly newsletters, blog posts, press releases.
  • Assist in researching and writing briefs for interviews or events for the lieutenant governor.
  • Take pictures of events attended by the lieutenant governor, and post them in a timely manner to the website.

Special Collections and University Archives, Weber State University - Oral History Intern - Paid

The SCUA Oral History Intern position will give students the opportunity to learn about oral histories and the importance of oral histories in preserving history. Work will consist of helping transcribe, edit, and process oral histories and preparing them for publication online. The intern will also have the opportunity to conduct an oral history and see it through to publication. Through this experience, students will hone their listening skills and learn how various communication styles work together during the interview process.

Candidates will help collect, transcribe, edit and process oral history interviews for a specific project related to the history of Weber State University and the surrounding community. The Oral History Intern will work in a team environment with Special Collections and University Archives. They will be given the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of current technology and best practices. Intern will have the opportunity to complete an oral history from start to finish.

Hours can be completed Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm. We are flexible in working with your schedule.

Ogden Surgical - Medical Society - Paid

The student will learn how to write basic grants, learn how to use their writing for accreditations for our organization, learn to write press releases, learn to write to other organizations, learn how to help me organize a conference with tools I can teach them, learn basic design to create conference slides, posters, learn how to create and input in conference app, learn how to edit copy, and learn how to use excel spreadsheets for conference input. A student does not need any science or medical background, at all. I am interested in a person that is a good speller, checks their work, and is detail orientated.

Congressman Blake Moore - Film Intern - Paid

Congressman Blake Moore's District Office is seeking a fall 2023 film intern. In partnership with the Library of Congress, Representative Moore is working to collect and preserve the stories of America’s veterans in video interviews through the Veterans History Project (VHP) so that future generations of scholars and citizens can learn the stories and sacrifices of their nation’s soldiers. As a film intern, you will be primarily concerned with helping accomplish this mission. You will be tasked with running the camera, microphones, and lighting so that the interviewer and interviewee can focus on a good interview. You will then edit the interview and prepare it to be turned over to the archives at the Library of Congress. The internship is paid. Catalyst Accelerator - Intern - Ogden

This position will support the Catalyst Accelerator Ogden, which is a program provided by Catalyst Campus for Technology and Innovation in partnership with Hill Air Force Base out of Ogden Utah.
