Five departments comprise the College of Arts and Humanities: English, communications, foreign languages and literature, performing arts, and visual arts.
These departments offer students a range of majors, minors, and the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary programs. Bringing the disparate departments and programs together is a commitment to human communication and creativity. Whether students take coursework in contemporary American literature or graphic design, journalism or American Sign Language, stage design or technical writing, they participate in that oh-so-human endeavor: expressing oneself to other human beings. We are here to help students better express their own stories, using a large storehouse of media: paint, paper, computer design programs, clay, rock, voices, eyes, hands, ears, musical scores, second and third languages, travel, group dynamics. . . the list goes on.
