UTA Ed Pass

The 2014-2015 UTA Ed pass will be FREE.

The UTA Ed pass will give you transportation on all UTA buses, Frontrunner and TRAX. It is a free benefit from WSU. Ride to school, work, the mall or even Salt Lake or Provo. You won't have to worry about traffic or gas prices. You will be contributing to a healthier environment while having the opportunity to work on homework or take a nap during your commute.

Students needing to reactivate or replace pass for 2013-2014

You can initiate your request through the portal, and request a replacement for a lost pass or a damaged pass.

Students needing a new pass for 2014-2015

You can initiate your request through the portal then pick up your pass anytime thereafter at the Ogden campus Information Desk, or Davis campus Student Services.

Cost

» The cost for the 2014-2015 academic year is FREE.

  1. A replacement card for lost or stolen card, is $50.
  2. A replacement card for a damaged card is free provided, the damage card is returned.

This is not a required pass and is meant as a benefit to registered students and full-time faculty and staff to utilize the UTA bus pass system for FREE

Concurrent enrollment students, continuing education non-credit students, hourly employee, spouses and family members of students or staff are NOT eligible for the Edpass benefit.

There are NO REFUNDS. If you lose your card and make the $50 payment to replace it, and then find your old one; there will be no refund on the second pass purchased.

 

Directions to renew your Weber State UTA Ed Pass:

  1. Log on to your portal. Locate the UTA Edpass Channel on the "My Weber" tab, and click on "Purchase Your Pass" (Directions for adding the EdPass Channel if you do not see it)

  2. In the first drop-down option, select UTA EdPass

  3. The next drop-down box will populate with the purchase options you are eligible for:
    1. If you have an active or inactive pass from 2013-2014, you should be eligible to renew your pass. Select ‘Edpass Annual Fee 2014-2015’.

      *If you’ve lost your card from last year, you will need to choose ‘Edpass Replace xxx lost’ and pay the $50 replacement fee.

  4. The amount owed will populate in the middle box. To move forward in the process, please read the terms and conditions agreement and check the "Agree to" box.

  5. A "Save"button will appear, click it.

    If purchasing a lost pass

  6. "Pay w/ Credit Card" and "Pay Later" buttons will appear
    1. If you choose to pay with a credit card online, click "Pay w/ Credit Card"
      1. You’ll be directed to the payment system. Enter in your credit card information and click "Continue"

      2. Verify the information is correct, then click "Continue" and you’ll be redirected to a confirmation page. Your transaction is complete.

      2. Then go to the Shepherd Union Information Desk at the Ogden campus to pay, renew or pick up your new card.

        At the Davis campus, go to the cashiers' office to pay. Then take the receipt to the Student Service Information Desk to process the transaction and pick up your new card.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the cost of the Ed pass?
    There is no annual fee for the UTA Ed pass. For the academic year 2014-2015 the pass is free. To replace a lost card is $50. To replace damaged cards is free provided you turn in the damaged card.

  • What is included in the services provided by the Ed pass?
    With the UTA Ed pass you have access to all the UTA system provides, including buses, the Front Runner and Trax. All routes, excluding the ski resort routes, are available to you whether it is for school purposes or not.

  • Do I have to renew my pass?
    Yes, each year you will need to renew the original pass before the beginning of each Fall term in order for that card to remain active.

  • I've lost my card, how do I get a new one?
    Log on to your Portal. Under the My Weber tab look for the UT Ed Pass channel. Click on ‘Purchase a pass’ then follow the steps above to process your request to obtain a new one. In the drop down menu under "You are eligible for" select "EdPass replace Xxx Lost pass". There is a $50 administrative fee to replace lost passes. The charge is on top of the yearly fee. Pay the fee online, and then go to the Shepherd Union Information Desk or Davis Campus Student Services to get your new card.

  • My card has been damaged (broke in half, cracked or simply doesn't work) how do I get a new one?
    Log on to your Portal. Under the My Weber tab look for the UTA Ed Pass channel. Click on ‘Purchase a pass’ then follow the steps above to process your request. In the drop down menu under "You are eligible for" select "EdPass replace Xxx damaged pass". There is no charge to replace a damaged card, as long as you bring in the damaged card to exchange. Click "Submit" to complete the online transaction, then go to the Shepherd Union Information Desk or Davis Campus Student Services to get your new card.

  • How do I delete a transaction? I picked the wrong option, or don’t want to pay for a pass anymore.
    There are no refunds, if you’ve made a payment, you should pick up your card and use it when needed (or if you’re reactivating a card) it will be reactivated and there is no option to reverse the transaction

    However, if you realize that you made the wrong selection in the second drop down, all you have to do is click delete to cancel the transaction. If you chose the ‘Pay later’ option and already submitted the request, you can still go in and delete it, as long as you do it before payment has been made.
