WSU Mourns Passing of Vice Provost and Dean

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State University family joins Davis County and northern Utah in mourning the passing of leader, friend and colleague, Bruce Davis.

Davis wore many hats during his nearly 30-year career at WSU, including vice provost and dean of Online & Continuing Education.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary (1867 No. Fairfield Road). Friends may visit family on Friday, Dec. 13 from 5-8 p.m. and again Saturday, Dec. 14 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

His family has established a Weber State University scholarship to honor Davis’ legacy of learning and service. Donations can be made through advancement.weber.edu/brucedavis.   

Among his many accomplishments, Davis was honored with the Research, Commercialization and Entrepreneurial Award on Oct. 2, 2019, and with the Dixon Award in March 2018.
