Eaton to Discuss Misconceptions About Evolution

November 24, 2008

OGDEN, Utah – Jeff Eaton, a professor of geosciences and the 2008 Hinckley Fellow, will deliver the annual Hinckley Lecture on Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. in Weber State University's Stewart Library Hetzel-Hoellein Room.

The Hinckley Lecture Series, which began eight years ago, is presented annually by WSU's Hinckley Fellow. The presenter chooses the topic based on personal interests or expertise. Eaton's presentation, "Misconceptions About Evolution," will focus on what evolution really is and what it means for the future. The event is free to the public.

The Hinckley Fellow is selected through the provost's office based on outstanding teaching, service and scholarship at WSU. Both the award and lecture are made possible through a generous annual gift from the John S. Hinckley family. Visit weber.edu/AcademicAffairs/hfa_recipients.html for a complete list of past Hinckley Fellows.
