Weber State Farmington Station Celebrates Grand Opening

OGDEN, Utah — A ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the grand opening of Weber State Farmington Station, a professional education center located in Station Park at 240 N. East Promontory, Farmington, Utah on Nov. 17 at 3:30 p.m.

The public is invited to tour the space and learn about the programs planned for the new facility from 4:30-7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

“Weber State Farmington Station is a giant step forward in our institution’s ability to serve the Wasatch Front’s varied and vibrant residents,” said WSU President Charles A. Wight. “We are thrilled to offer a first-rate education in a first-rate location: Station Park.”

The center is surrounded by a variety of restaurants, shopping and lodging options and located near a UTA Front Runner for easy access to public transportation and the Salt Lake International Airport.

The 11,000-square-foot space is the home to the new executive Master of Health Administration (eMHA) program, which began enrolling students in fall 2015. Students meet for face-to-face instruction one and a half days at the beginning of each semester; the rest of each course is taught online.

“We will provide courses that will meet the needs of working professionals,” said Brian Stecklein, associate dean of Continuing Education. “Our first program is geared toward professionals who would like to increase their opportunities for movement within the healthcare industry. The location facilitates this type of program very well.”

Weber State Farmington Station is situated on the third floor of building C in Station Park. GSBS Architects designed the building. HHI Corporation completed construction in four-and-one-half months.

It is divided into classrooms, seminar rooms, a conference room, offices and a reception area.  Additional classes and programs are planned for the future.

“The eMHA is a dynamic, blended-learning program,” said Bruce Davis, dean of Continuing Education. “The location helps provide access to higher education in a community space that will complement innovation.”
