Criminal Justice Professor to Speak on Capital Punishment

    Weber State University criminal justice professor L. Kay Gillespie will speak on capital punishment Nov. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Lindquist Alumni Center. Gillespie is a world-renowned expert on the history of capital punishment throughout the world and has developed intriguing perspectives on arguments both for and against the practice. Gillespie has written a number of books on the topic, including “The Unforgiven: Utah’s Executed Men,” and the book his lecture will be based on, “Inside the Death Chamber: Exploring Executions.” The free lecture is presented by the Weber State University Alumni Association, the Weber Historical Society and the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences.
