History Writer to Speak at WSU

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State University Department of History will present the 2003 Critchlow Lecture featuring writer David Haward Bain at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the WSU Stewart Library.

Bain will present "Wasatch to Green Mountains: Tracking Bernard DeVoto, Teacher/Historian." He has written several historical books and essays, including his latest book "Empire Express: Building the First Transcontinental Railroad," which won the New England Historical Association's and the National Railroad and Locomotive Historical Society's annual book prizes.  He has conducted prose and poetry workshops at Middlebury College since 1987.
