Sadler, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at WSU, was nominated and chosen for the honor in recognition of his "exceptional contributions" to Utah history.
Sadler joined the faculty at WSU as a history professor in 1969 and was named dean of the college in 1985. A member of the Utah Board of State History, Sadler has served as president of the Mormon History Association and editor of the Journal of Mormon History. He has published several books on Utah history, including "The History of Weber County" and "Weber State College…A Centennial History."
The USHS formally honored Sadler, along with newly named Fellows Floyd O'Neil, Utah historian, and Peter Goss, University of Utah professor, at its annual meeting held Sept. 23.
