English Department Offers Writing Workshop for Veterans
September 21, 2007

The Weber State University Department of English and the Wasatch Range Writing Project will offer a writing workshop for military veterans starting Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. at the Weber County Library Southwest Branch (1950 W. 4800 South, Roy).

The sessions, which will be held every Tuesday for eight weeks, are designed to assist military veterans of all eras capture their experiences in writing. "In talking with veterans, many say these workshops give them the incentive they need to write down what they experienced while in the military," said Gary Dohrer, a WSU English professor. "A lot of them have wanted to do this for a long time."

Veterans, who will receive instruction, support and feedback from university faculty at the sessions, are asked to bring their own paper and a writing utensil. For more information, call 801-626-7318.
