Forum to Explore Journalism Ethics in High Profile Cases
OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University's Honors Issues Forum will discuss "Journalism Ethics: The Aftermath of Elizabeth Smart" at 10 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 18) in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.

A panel of journalists, featuring KSL News reporter Karen Scullin, Standard-Examiner News & Circulation Editor Ron Thornburg, WSU communication professor Sheree Josephson, and instructors Kara Gould and Allison Barlow Hess, will address how several high-profile cases are interpreted and how they are prioritized and systematically handled by the media.

The forum will also explore what effect media coverage has on such cases and how the media should handle these kinds of stories.

This event is free to the public. The Honors Issue Forum is sponsored by WSU's Honors Program.
