Bus Tour Promoting Involvement in Political Process to Visit WSU

September 10, 2004

Weber State University is promoting student political involvement and voter registration by hosting the Utah Campus Compact (UCC) Marathon Fun Bus Tour at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Stewart Bell Tower Plaza.

Organizers of the two-day statewide tour hope to raise awareness on Utah campuses about service learning and civic engagement by encouraging students to volunteer in their communities and vote in local, state and federal elections.

The tour will begin in Cedar City at Southern Utah University on Sept. 16 and will culminate Sept. 18 at halftime of the Utah State University football game in Logan. The tour will be composed of representatives from the Students Serving Utah Network (SSUN) and student body presidents and officers from Utah colleges and universities. The tour will stop for approximately 30 minutes at the Stewart Bell Tower Plaza before heading to Logan.
