Campus, Community Invited to Meet AD Finalists
Aug 31, 2005

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University will host a series of open-house meetings so campus and community members can meet and interact with the three candidates interviewing for the Wildcats athletic director position.

Last week, WSU announced the names of three finalists for the vacant athletic director position. The candidates, selected from a national pool of 45 applicants, are Kenneth Beazer, director of athletic development at Utah State University; Gregory Byrne, associate athletic director for development and fundraising at the University of Kentucky from 2002-2005; and Jerry Graybeal, interim athletic director and former WSU football coach.

"The search committee felt it was important for campus and community members to have an opportunity to meet and get to know these candidates," said Norm Tarbox, vice president of Administrative Services and chair of the search committee.

The community open houses will be held on the third floor of the Stewart Stadium Sky Suites at 4 p.m. on the day of each candidate's visit.

Community Open House Schedule:

Sept. 7 – 4 p.m. Jerry Graybeal
Sept. 12 – 4 p.m. Gregory Byrne
Sept. 14 – 4 p.m. Kenneth Beazer

WSU's athletic director position has been open since April when William J. Weidner resigned to accept a position at the University of Central Florida.
