OGDEN, Utah – Jeffrey Hurst has been named dean of students at Weber State University.
Hurst has served as acting dean since June 2003. He joined WSU in 1993 and has held a variety of positions, including two years as director of the Counseling and Psychological Services Center.
"Jeff's extensive background in student affairs administration will provide excellent leadership to our university," said Toni Weight, interim vice president of Student Affairs. "He has worked in a variety of settings and will be an excellent student advocate and mentor."
His appointment concluded a national search to fill the vacancy created by Sheldon Nord's departure last year.
Hurst earned his bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Wyoming and holds a master's degree and a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Utah.
