We commit to helping every student find belonging and connection to the University. Our work supports the university mission to promote student achievement, equity and inclusion, and vibrant community relationships. The following statements form the philosophical foundations of the Department of Student Involvement and Leadership:

  • Maintain a commitment to educate and cultivate the whole student through the development of meaningful life skills and personal achievement.
  • Support the appreciation, understanding, and advocacy for equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Provide opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and networking connections on campus and in the surrounding community.
  • Encourage the free and open exchange of ideas in a context and environment of mutual respect.
