Peer Mentoring

SSS Peer Mentors provide outreach and support to entering SSS students.  They can help -

  1. Familiarize students with the SSS program and University resources, enabling them to reach their educational and personal goals.
  2. Ease the student's transition to college life by discovering, developing, and honing their unique abilities that will help them succeed at Weber State University.
  3. Instill a sense of community among all program participants by providing service projects and activities where students can give back to the community while getting to know one another and building friendships.

Peer Mentors cultivate relationships and foster communication with each member by planning cultural and social activities and maintaining ongoing contact with students throughout their first year of college. SSS Peer Mentors are program ambassadors as well as leaders and role models to all SSS participants.

Entering freshmen will be assigned a peer mentor when they are accepted in to SSS.
