Ogden Civic Action Network

Ogden Civic Action Network (OgdenCAN) is a coalition of anchor institutions, community partners, and neighbors committed to improving the health and well-being of our community.

OgdenCAN advances both neighborhood solutions, and regional impact in partnership with the United Partnership Council. With a primary focus in Ogden’s East Central Neighborhood, OgdenCAN supports community leadership development, strengthens local networks, and invests in community-led solutions.

Mission

The mission of Ogden Civic Action Network is to focus on the health and well-being of our residents in the East Central neighborhood.

Vision

Our vision is a thriving Ogden-Weber Community in partnership with the United Partnership Council through five areas of focus: Health, Education, Built Environment, Economic Stability and Social Fabric.

Our Hyper-Local Commitment: The East Central Neighborhood

OgdenCAN is hyper-local and place-based with its deepest focus in the East Central Neighborhood, where we build local leadership and strengthen community health and opportunity. At the same time, our work connects to the broader Ogden community, recognizing that when East Central thrives, Ogden-Weber benefits, and when Ogden-Weber is thriving, it creates greater opportunity for East Central.

In partnership with the United Partnership Council (UPC), OgdenCAN cultivates networks and committees to advance high impact solutions focused on five Community Pillars of Health: lifelong learning, vibrant economy, safe and strong neighborhoods, community connection, and healthy lifestyles.

The East Central Neighborhood of Ogden is a 10-block by 10-block area adjacent to downtown where neighbors are building on local strengths to create real change. OgdenCAN supports these grassroots efforts, helping connect people, resources, and opportunities across the community.

By centering our work in East Central, we:

  • Identify, connect, and mobilize community assets — the people, places, and partnerships that form the foundation of neighborhood strength.
  • Build trust and momentum through consistent presence and authentic relationship building with and between neighbors.
  • Address challenges at the neighborhood level, where solutions can be most meaningful.
  • Create models that can scale to other parts of the city and region.
