Question: What happens during Orientation?
Answer: During Orientation we will connect you with resources on campus, provide insiders’ advice on what professors expect, how to get involved, how to register for classes, and so much more! You can expect to meet your academic advisor and maybe even a new friend or two. To view some sample schedules from past sessions, click here.
Question: Why do I need to take Accuplacer? When should I take it?
Answer: Accuplacer is our placement test to help place you in the correct Math and/or English class. We want to make sure you don’t register for a class you’re bored in or one you’ll struggle through, but the perfect class. You should take Accuplacer at least 1 week prior to attending Orientation. This will give us time to remove any registration holds you have and process your scores. To view more information about Accuplacer, click here.
Question: What if I don’t know what I want to major in yet?
Answer: During Orientation, you’ll join other students who are majoring in the same program you are or a similar program. You’ll meet with an Academic Advisor who will cover what classes to register for and specific program information. If you have any idea of what you want to major in, we’d suggest you meet with that group (for example English or Elementary Education). If you have no idea, don’t worry, you can meet with the General Studies group.
Question: What do I need to bring to Orientation?
Answer: You'll want to bring your Accuplacer scores (if necessary), along with $10 and a form of ID to get your Wildcard (student ID). Also remember to bring any official AP scores or transcripts if you have not yet submitted them to the Admissions Office.
Question: Are parents, family members or friends able to come with me?
Answer: We understand starting college is a big step. If possible, we recommend parents and family members attend a separate information session. (For more information on the information sessions click here)
If parents or family members do attend, please understand, room in the computer labs may be limited to students only. It's definitely not necessary to bring a significant other. We’ll pair you with other students and an amazing student leader too!
Question: Is there anything I should do before I come to Orientation?

Question: When should I attend Orientation?
Answer: Our upcoming sessions are designed for undergraduate students starting Fall 2013. To view sessions designed just for you, visit the Orientation home page and select the student type that most likely resembles you.
Question: Is there a cost to attend Orientation?
Answer: No! Orientation is absolutely free! You will want to bring $10 with you to get your Wildcard (student ID).
Question: What if I need to change or cancel my Orientation session once I’ve signed up for it?
Answer: If you need to change the Orientation session you originally signed up for, simply register again for the new date. To completely cancel your Orientation session, please send an email to recruit1@weber.edu including your first and last name and the session you need to cancel.
Question: Is Orientation open-house style? What should I do if I need to leave early?
Answer: In order to provide you with the best experience possible, we do have a specific schedule to follow. You should expect to be with us for 4-6 jam-packed hours of fun! Please plan on arriving approximately 30 minutes early. If you arrive late, you'll most likely miss your campus tour. If your schedule doesn’t allow you to be with us the entire time, we would suggest setting up an individual appointment with your academic advisor on your own.
